Mechanism
The product used in BAP is a combination of high and low molecular weight HA, stabilized by heat (without using the chemical cross-linking agent BDDE), at a high concentration. After injection, HA naturally spreads within the subcutaneous layer, retaining moisture and interacting with fibroblasts and adipocytes to enhance collagen and elastin production over several weeks. The result is firmer, thicker, and more elastic skin — a 'biological restructuring' rather than mere volume replacement.
Why only 5 points on each side?
The five points are selected based on anatomy: the cheekbone, sub-cheekbone, preauricular area, jaw angle, and chin — areas with fewer large blood vessels and nerves, ensuring safety and allowing the product to spread and cover the mid-lower facial layers. Fewer injection points mean less bruising, less pain, and a quicker procedure; the spreading effect comes from the product's properties, not from the number of injections.
BAP vs. fillers and skin boosters
Filler: shapes and replaces volume locally. Skin booster: diluted HA injected as micro-dots in the dermis, providing hydration and smoothing the skin surface. BAP: high-concentration HA placed under the skin at 5 points, spreading to improve firmness and elasticity at a deeper level. The three techniques complement each other in the rejuvenation plan.
Indications
Skin begins to lose firmness, slightly sagging in the cheeks and jawline; thin skin with reduced elasticity due to aging (typically 35–60 years); individuals seeking to improve overall skin quality without altering facial shape; can be combined before or after HIFU or thread lifting. Also suitable for the neck and back of the hands with a separate point map.
Risks to be aware of
Swelling, lumps at the 5 points for 1–3 days (as the product spreads gradually), small bruises, mild pain, and rare inflammatory or infectious reactions; low vascular risk due to the injection site but still requires a physician to perform. Not suitable when clear volume replacement is needed.
At BonBoz
Aesthetic dermatologists assess skin firmness, laxity, and thickness; select registered products, and inject at the correct 5 anatomical points using the bolus technique under the skin, with surface anesthesia beforehand. The treatment consists of 2 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart, maintaining results for 6–9 months; the physician performs the procedure directly and aligns it with an overall rejuvenation plan.
