Rhinoplasty

Cost of semi-structural rhinoplasty

Semi-structural rhinoplasty costs more than rhinoplasty with cartilage-wrapped tip because in addition to placing a dorsal implant, the surgeon also reconstructs the nasal tip using septal or ear cartilage to elongate and support the tip. The cost depends on the type of dorsal implant, the cartilage source, and the degree of tip modification required. The table below is for reference only. The final quote will be confirmed by the doctor after the consultation, with no hidden fees.

Cost Differences: Semi-Structural Rhinoplasty vs. Cartilage-Wrapped Tip Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty with a cartilage-wrapped tip only involves placing an implant along the nasal dorsum and covering the nasal tip. Semi-structural rhinoplasty includes the additional step of building the columella/nasal strut and extending the nasal tip using autologous cartilage (septal cartilage, ear cartilage). This requires longer operative time, more complex techniques, and the harvesting and processing of cartilage. In return, the nasal tip receives structural support, significantly reducing the long-term risk of implant show-through or redness.

What the Package Price Includes

The all-inclusive package covers: consultation with the operating surgeon, pre-operative lab tests, the dorsal implant, autologous cartilage harvest and intraoperative surgical supplies, prescribed post-operative medications, follow-up visits, and suture removal (sutures are typically removed on days 10–14). The final quote confirmed after your consultation will not change.

Factors Affecting the Cost Range

  • Type of dorsal implant: Standard Korean silicone implants versus other imported materials.
  • Cartilage source: Septal cartilage harvested internally; if the septum is thin, the surgeon may also harvest ear cartilage, which involves a small incision behind the ear.
  • Degree of tip modification: Severely short or upturned tips require more extensive tip extension.
  • Combined procedures: Alar base reduction or dorsal hump reduction are priced separately if needed.

When to Consider a Full Structural Rhinoplasty

If you have undergone previous nasal surgery, have noticeably thin tip skin, or have a weak columellar foundation requiring a complete rebuild, the surgeon may recommend a full structural rhinoplasty using autologous rib cartilage. While the cost is higher, it is more suitable for complex nasal anatomy. This determination can only be made during an in-person consultation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the price of semi-structural rhinoplasty include the cost of harvesting septal cartilage or ear cartilage?

Yes. The autologous cartilage used for tip projection and support is fully included in the all-inclusive package, even if the surgeon needs to harvest additional ear cartilage.

Is semi-structural rhinoplasty more durable than rhinoplasty with cartilage-wrapped tip, and is the price difference worth it?

The nasal tip is reconstructed and supported using autologous cartilage, providing better structural stability and significantly reducing the risk of implant visibility or redness over time. Whether it is worth the price difference depends on your baseline nasal anatomy—the surgeon will explain this clearly during your consultation.

Do I have to pay extra if the surgery takes longer than expected?

No. The finalized all-inclusive quote does not change based on surgical duration.

Does revision rhinoplasty using the semi-structural technique for a nose done elsewhere cost the same?

Revision cases are typically more complex because they require managing scar tissue and removing previous implant materials, so the cost is generally higher than primary rhinoplasty. The exact price can only be determined after an examination.

How many follow-up visits are required, and are there extra fees?

The follow-up schedule typically includes splint removal, suture removal on days 10–14, and several subsequent monitoring check-ups; all are fully included in the package price.

Are preoperative tests required, and who pays for them?

Basic preoperative tests (blood work, coagulation profile) are included in the all-inclusive price. If you have underlying medical conditions requiring further specialist evaluation, those will be conducted at an appropriate medical facility.

Is installment payment available?

Yes, through our partner financial institutions; eligibility requirements and terms depend on each provider. Our consultants will guide you through the application process upon request.

How soon will I receive a price quote?

Right during your consultation. Once the examination is complete, the surgeon will recommend the appropriate technique, and a consultant will provide a written quote; you are under no obligation to make a decision on the spot.
